Education Our
program
will
provide the opportunities for training
of 8 graduate students and 4 post-doctoral fellows
on average per year
in one
of the most active areas of modern physics. This
number amounts to a
total of
15 graduate students and 8 post-doctoral fellows in
the planned
research period
of five years. They will learn most developed laser
and vacuum
technology
involving the quantum gas experiments, as well as
important physical
concepts.
As a joint effort, our program will develop atomic
physics course for
graduate
students covering a broad range of up-to-date
subjects, taking
advantage of the
diverse backgrounds of the participants. Also, we
will provide various
seminars
and workshop to introduce the quantum gas
experiments to the physics
community
in Korea.
The current cold atom experiment expands its realm
crossing the
boundaries into
many other sub-fields such as many-body physics,
quantum optics and
quantum
chaos. We will look for common interests with other
physics subfields,
aiming
